Over the weekend we watched Tropical Storm Michael develop quickly in the Caribbean. We’re adjusting all our plans this week to deal with potential hurricane force winds and torrential rain. That entails lots of harvest ahead of the storm and possibly breaking down our greenhouses (if winds exceed 60 mph). We’ll likely be moving all our transplants to a safe space inside a shipping container but even that practice has lost plants in the past. If we don’t get completely inundated by rainfall we’ll be working to plant our strawberries later this week and into next week. A total of 30,000 plants or more will hopefully find their way into our fields during the next two weeks. -Farmer John
