Do you remember those fruit rollups from when you were a kid? It was basically sticky gummy paper. The thought of eating it now doesn’t really appeal to me considering it’s mostly food coloring, artificial ingredients and tons of sugar. Fortunately for us, one of our CSA members Nicole Stern has shared a healthier, vegan recipe for homemade fruit rollup!
Local Organic Strawberries (from the U-pick @ Frogsong)
12 ounces unsweetened applesauce
juice of half a lemon or lime
- Preheat oven to low.
- Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend & pour liquid onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
- Leave in oven on super low heat until done.
- Cut, roll, and most importantly enjoy!
