reschedule in March. We loved sharing the farm with everyone and were tickled to see all the kiddos – they literally had a ton of fun diving into a thousand pounds of organic, Florida-grown corn! It’s magical to watch little ones engage with the farm. Their senses come alive, they develop a greater appreciation for food and mother nature, and seriously, what beats playing outside, getting dirty, and hanging out with cute animals? As a family-owned farm, we believe all children should have these experiences.
Special Events and Experiences
The young-at-heart enjoyed the day, too. Certified nature therapy guide Candace Jones led our mindful nature walk inspired by the therapeutic Japanese practice of orshinrin-yoku (forest bathing). Candace helped trigger our “rest and digest” system then hosted a healing tea ceremony for participants. Learn more about forest therapy and how fortunate we are to have a resource like Candace in our farm family.
Farmers Amy and John love sharing their knowledge. At festival, their interactive tours were the perfect opportunity to see the crops, meet our pastured pigs and free range chickens, and get answers to all the questions folks were dying to ask. Click here for a taste of John’s comprehensive tour.
Our U-Pick lineup brought a few surprises, and we appreciate how everybody rolled with the strawberry situation. We’re experiencing our most challenging crop in a decade. Learn more about what’s happening in the field, and how we adapt to situations beyond our control by reading Farmer Amy’s message on our event page. Sunflowers and calendula were a late addition to the U-Pick lineup, and attendees also harvested buckets of sweet onions, snow peas, and potatoes for their kitchen.
Shout-out to our musician sponsor PPM Solar – you rock! Thank you to artists Patchwork Duo, Ruckus, and Ambient Benevolence, food vendors Radha’s Kitchen and Berry Land, our hardworking crew, and the hundreds of attendees who filled the farm with good vibes. Sharing the day with our community is invigorating. We’re ready to do it again and already planning our next event – stay tuned for details!
