Pork Shares – Registered Berkshire pigs, born nearby in Hawthorne at Tracy Lee’s farm. They grew up at our farm, and were fed organic crop trimmings, plus certified organic, soy-free swine feed from New Country Organics. They have been rotated around the farm and have lived outdoors their entire lives. First harvest date was August 2, and more harvests are scheduled as pigs reach the right size. Shares can include pork chops, roasts, sausage, and other cuts. Stewing Hens – These birds were raised at our farm and have moved on from laying hens to stewing hens. Most are the Ameracauna breed. They are wonderful in a crock pot for chicken soup, enchilada filling, etc. Flavorful and tender when slow-cooked with liquid (not suited frying/grilling). Fed certified organic, soy-free feed, plus ranged access to crops and bugs. Harvested and USDA processed locally at Seely’s Ark in Ocala. Birds come frozen and vacuum-packed, approximately 2.75-3 pounds each. Chickens are available and legal for sale to the public.
