Weekly CSA Share 1/09/2017

This week’s share :

Green Cabbage :  Trying  vegan or vegetarian? Here’s a great recipe for cabbage steaks! http://paleoleap.com/oven-roasted-garlic-cabbage/

Bok Choi and Sweet Potatoes:  Warm up with a delicious soup during this cold snap that incorporates two of our items this week. http://www.rebootwithjoe.com/sweet-potato-and-bok-choy-soup/

Kohlrabi : Make the most of your vegetables by eating the leaves! There are a lot of vitamins in the leaves of the root vegetables. ttps://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/kohlrabi/harvesting-kohlrabi-leaves.htm

Oranges : These oranges are grown right here at Frog Song! Enjoy the fresh taste of orange in the morning. The vitamin C can help to ward off those unwanted winter colds.

Watermelon Radish: The other day I had some watermelon radishes which I decided to mash like a potato! I simply boiled the radishes until soft and then mashed them with olive oil, salt and pepper. They were delicious!  Experiment with the vegetables in  your box and see what new recipes you can create or use different vegetables in familiar ways.

Green Romaine : This is a unique way to serve your romaine by grilling. http://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1017536-grilled-romaine

Mizuna:  We call this arugula’s mild-mannered sister! Mizuna is great to add to your salad or massage with a little olive oil and add some sea salt to it!

Cilantro:  I encourage you to try this http://thymeandlove.com/vegan-cilantro-pesto-spaghetti/  you will not be disappointed with unique taste!
