WET JUNE
We’re trying to keep from getting washed away from this abnormally heavy rainfall. We’ve seen over 20″ of rain fall at our farm in the last two weeks. NOAA is forecasting another week of heavy rain to come. To give you all an idea of how much rain that is, we typically expect between 45-50″ of rain per year here.
Farmers all around the world are documenting weather phenomenons that appear to show escalating severity of storms and weather patterns. We hope you all take measures in your own lives to reduce carbon dioxide and all contamination in our environment. The threat to our future is very real, regardless of what the plutocrats tell us.

Events like this challenge the design of our system of agriculture. We’re using every tool available to keep our plants from drowning and to continue yielding, all while conserving top soil. We’ve been working daily to drain blocks of excess water and to control erosion. So far many of our measures are working but we’ve had to triage a lot of crops that could not handle the moisture. We’re investing our energy this week in our sweet potato vines, roselle hibiscus, and the surviving pumpkins (many plants have not made it).

As we enter the season of non-abundance, we want to send out a thank you all of our patrons for their support and helping us get through these wet times. ~Farmer John
