Sunday October 4th – CSA Sign Up Fair at First Magnitude Brewing in Gainesville, FL

Come out to First Magnitude on October 4th from 4 to 7 to learn about some of Florida’s best Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Programs. Meet the farmers of Swallowtail Farm, The Family Garden, Siembra Farm, and Frog Song Organics, learn about their operations, and potentially sign up to be a member of one of these great CSA Programs. We will have live music by Ricky Kendall, the glorious food creations of Humble Pie and Fables Catering, and some very passionate farmers.

Also, there will be a Chef’s Table, where local chefs, restaurateurs, caterers and other culinary artists are invited to come and talk shop with farmers from these four farms. There will be information on what is grown when, some basic pricing and distribution information, seasonal availability info, restaurant CSA shares, and an opportunity for all to create even more vitality in the local food scene!

FREE BEER! Those who sign up for a CSA Program will receive a free 6oz pour of one of our year round beers (Siren Blonde, 72 Pale, Drift English Mild, or Ursa IPA)

As a side note, I’d like to add that collaborative events like this one are one of the reasons we love Gainesville and our surrounding community. The farms mentioned above, plus a few others like Possum Hollow, have gotten together occasionally over the past few years to plot, plan, compare notes, dream and commiserate in our experience of starting and operating smallish farms in Northern Central Florida. We hope it’s the beginning of more ways for us to work together to grow more food and feed more people healthy, local, fresh fruits and veggies!
